Running for Bella

Since the move to Birmingham last month, I've had the sweet privilege of getting to know the Wilbanks family. We've been "blog friends" for over two years now through our common connection to India (I was working with children in India, and they were seeking to adopt one!). This family is precious, and the more I get to know them, the more I am so excited for their new addition and so blessed to be a small part of the journey. Her pink room longs for laughter and dress-up play, her big brothers are eager to show her the trampoline, and her parents & Nana can't wait to make up for all the lost hugs & kisses of the past seven years. It's time for Bella to come home.

I am honored to run the Atlanta Marathon (10/30/11) for Bella. And YOU can be a part of it too! I'm looking for 38 people who will donate $26.2 (as a marathon is 26.2 miles) to reach my goal of $1000 for Bella. Adoption is expensive, but the Wilbanks are so close! By supporting me, you support them, and in turn you support an Indian orphan who is orphaned no more! Now THAT is something worth supporting! Because, dear child of God, isn't that OUR story too?

“Even before he made the world,
God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
God decided in advance to ADOPT us into his own family
by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.
This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom
with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”
(Ephesians 1:4-7)

We were the orphans– dirty, helpless, unwanted. But not forgotten by God. Through Christ, we’ve been rescued (though not without great cost!) and brought into the family of God– an adoption that changes everything. May we never forget our story!

Let's do this!
Orphaned no more,
Amanda
